Conveyor belt deflection law

(1) Running loose but not running tight: during the running of the belt conveyor, if the center line of the front and rear rollers are not parallel, resulting in different degrees of tightness on both sides of the tape, the tape will move to the loose side.

(2) Running high but not running low: support rollers are not in the same horizontal position parallel to the running direction of the tape, but one end is high and one end is low, then the tape will run to the high side.

(3) Running back but not running forward: the support roller is not in the section perpendicular to the running direction of the tape, but one end of the front, one end of the back (referring to the running direction of the tape), then the tape will move to the back end.

(4) Run big not run small: the outer surface of the roller plus t error, sticky coal or uneven wear caused by the diameter of the size is not consistent, the tape will run to the side of the larger diameter.

Influencing factors of conveyor belt deflection

The factors affecting the deflection of conveyor belt are mainly divided into the following five categories:

1 The deflection caused by manufacturing

(1) The roller processing diameter at both ends is not equal to form a large diameter at one end and a small diameter at the other end, thus causing the conveyor belt deflection.

(2) The middle bracket of the roller and the side bracket installation of the roller shaft groove is not in the same straight line.

2 Installation caused by the deviation

(1) The axes of the head and tail rollers are not perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline of the conveyor, causing different tensions on both sides of the belt.

(2) The roller support is not perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline of the conveyor.

(3) The groove angle of the inclined rollers on both sides of the grooved roller group is not equal.

(4) The installation of roller bracket is tilted (caused by basic unevenness and quality of installation), so that the whole conveyor roller bracket is not on the same level, resulting in the material on the conveyor belt is not centered, thus causing the conveyor belt to run off.

3 The deflection caused by the use and maintenance

(1) When adding material to the belt conveyor, the material is not centered on the cross section of the conveyor belt and is biased to one side, so that the force on both sides of the conveyor belt is uneven and causes the conveyor belt to run off. Uneven distribution of mineral material is mainly caused by the incorrect direction and position of the mineral material, if the mineral material is biased to the left, the conveyor belt to the right; and vice versa.

(2) When conveying viscous and not easy to clean materials, the redirection roller and the lower branch of the roller adheres to the material and causes the conveyor belt to run away.

(3) Uneven tensioning device force, so that the tensioning roller skewed (especially on the spiral tensioning), resulting in unequal tension on both sides of the conveyor and run off.

(4) middle unloading using plow unloader, when the two-way plow unloader on both sides of the angle is not equal or both sides of the unloading baffle length is not equal, will cause the conveyor belt to run off; one-way plow unloader is more likely to make the conveyor belt to run off.

(5) Cleaner cleaning, the pressure exerted on the conveyor belt is not uniform, one side of the big side of the small will cause the conveyor belt on both sides of the tension is not equal and run off.

(6) The deflection caused by the slackness of the conveyor belt. Adjusted conveyor belt in operation for a period of time, due to deformation or aging of the conveyor belt stretching, will make the tension drop, resulting in conveyor belt relaxation, caused by the deviation.

(7) Runaway caused by vibration in operation. Mechanical vibration is unavoidable when the belt conveyor is running, and the faster the running speed is, the greater the vibration is, and the greater the deflection caused by the conveyor belt is. In the belt conveyor, the vibration caused by the radial runout of the rollers has a great influence on the deflection of the conveyor belt.

4 Environmental deflection

The belt conveyor installed in the open air, especially the cross-country long-distance belt conveyor, is subject to the wind, rain, snow and other weather changes will also cause the conveyor belt deflection.

5 Deflection caused by the conveyor belt itself

(1) Uneven force on both sides of the core layer of the conveyor belt itself, especially the steel cord conveyor belt, uneven force on both sides of the steel wire rope will lead to the deflection of the conveyor belt.

(2) Conveyor belt manufacturing is not standardized into a serpentine caused by deflection.

(3) The quality of conveyor belt joints on the one hand should ensure its tensile strength, on the other hand, should ensure that the joints cut edge should be perpendicular to the center line of the conveyor belt, so that the joints after the length of the two sides of the ring belt is equal, otherwise it will lead to conveyor belt deflection.
